Shanna S. started our
evening with a devotion which focused on taking the hurry out of the “holidays”
and replacing it with a new focus… hurrying to Jesus. We can lose focus on what
the real meaning of Christmas is while getting caught up in the hustle and
bustle of this busy time of year.
Our evening continued by
sitting around our tables and trying to string the smallest beads (which are
very similar in size to a piece of nano-pea or teensy micro-pod) onto a
stretchy and wobbly string. It appears that crafting is a talent which I do not
possess. Vonda was extremely patient as we all attempted to craft these beautiful,
but nearly impossible-to-tie-like-the-picture-says-so bracelets. The final
product? A wonderful silver and beaded faith bracelet.
The colored beads
symbolize the following:
Black is a reminder of
our sin-stained heart.
Red is for the love shown
to us by Jesus who shed His blood for us.
White is for purity that
only comes from Jesus.
Green is for the gift of
new life.
Blue is for the waters
of baptism.
Aqua is for trust.
Pink is for Peace.
While we crafted away,
the evening was spent sharing stories from our hearts. I am so thankful for
each one of you that are part of this group.
