- Try to get to the stop at least five minutes early. Stand three giant steps from the curb and stay there until the bus comes to a stop.
- Remind your child to always use the handrails when getting on and off the bus to avoid accidental injuries from trips and falls.
- If your child needs to walk in front of the bus, tell him to take five giant steps from the front of the bus before crossing and never walk behind it.
- Tell your child to let the driver know if she drops something near the bus. He may not notice if your little one bends down to pick it up.
