Well, this is our last meeting of the year. Just when it feels like we’re finally getting going! The constant stream of conversation as we gathered together put a smile on my face. I briefly reflected on our inaugural year of Evening Carelink and I’m so blessed by the Lord as he has fulfilled a dream of mine, or His, which ever way you want to look at it.
Tiffany shared a devotional with us; encouraging us to give journaling a try. She shared a couple recent examples of how the Lord has spoken to her through her scripture reading times and how applicable they can be to current life circumstances.
Our topic for the evening was Mom Tips:Everything Organization. We started off talking about how we can simplify our lives in the grocery store and in our kitchens. Many moms find shopping at Aldi saves them money. Also mentioned were smart phone apps and website links that can track grocery sales, your menu lists and ingredients needed for meals. Try keeping new recipes from magazines in a 3-ring binder so they stay organized and can be easily found.
A second aspect of our discussion was ideas on raising our kids: chore charts, rewards verses punishments and so on. One time-out idea was to make a glitter jar. Shake it up when it's time for a time-out and make your child sit with the jar until all the glitter has settled to the bottom.
Paperwork. We need say no more, right?! School papers, church bulletins, art projects, mail, bills and so on. Scan images of school items and compile into a digital memory book. We also had some good ideas for organizing stuff in our cars, closets, bathrooms and entryways.
So many good ideas…I just need to remember to implement these in my house! We ended our meeting with a group picture. What a great year ladies! I look forward to sharing a few more evenings together next year!
