We moms of young children are often told by moms whose children are grown and gone how quickly the time passes and to make the most of every moment. We know in our hearts how true that is, but it doesn't excuse us from the tasks of life each day.
I've been reminded lately how we rarely "live in the moment". Rather we're always thinking about the past or planning for the future, whether that be a few minutes/hours/month or years from now. This devo was a good reminder to seek the balance.
Those of us who'd rather spend all day playing with our babies need to remember to do a few chores :-) And those of us prone to put off playing with our kids because of the to-do list, need to set that aside a little more often. Remember our kids won't always be under foot or even under our roof.
