Oh, women, I am so thankful for you all! A handful of stay-at-home moms are going to give an extravagant gift this Christmas season. Praise Jesus for your generosity!
Mom's Carelink team asked you to consider donating towards a basket of gift cards and words of encouragement for a single-mom in our church and you gave $450.00! Adding to that a donation from the Carelink fund, we will be giving this special mom $600.00! (I'm keeping the name anonymous to respect her privacy.)
After our meeting this morning, I read my daily devotion from Proverbs 31 Ministries. Yes, another plug for their great devotionals! Today's was titled, A Little Help from Friends, and the passage of scripture read:
"When Moses' hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up - one on one side, one on the other - so that his hands remained steady till sunset." Exodus 17:12
We need the support of others to get through the challenges of life. I think of those who are close to me being these encouragers. Yet, here you are as a group doing the very thing Aaron and Hur did for Moses for a woman most of you do not know. You are coming alongside her and lifting her up in a time of need. God knows how and when He wants to use us and often times it's in the most unlikely of circumstances. I pray God receives all the honor and glory and that she feels His loving presence in an awesome way.
