So Long Summer. You'll be missed!

The leisurely pace of summer is like a mist I can see but cannot grasp any longer. I'm unsure if it's a good thing or not. Once you have children in school, summer no longer lasts until the fall weather arrives. (And I'm hoping it arrives early this year!) I sense the same mixed-up feelings in other moms I have spoken to since the day we said goodbye to July. Summer is quickly ending. Just the word "August" confirms it for us. Lazy mornings, jammy days, afternoons at the pool and the freedom to leave town - all are close to being boxed up and put away for a while.

Yet, good things come with the dawn of a new school year. Change. Routine. New friends. Learning. Programs begin again that took the summer off, like Mom's Carelink.

It seemed we had all summer to wait for this year of Carelink to begin and now it has snuck up on me! This last week has been all about publicity. Shawna Klein, publicity coordinator, and Jan Miller, Women's Ministries Team member and graphic designer, have been working on business cards and flyers for us to use to get the word out about Mom's Carelink. Vonda Kinser, hospitality coordinator, is prepping the August mailing that will go out to church families next week, so you'll get to see a little of what they've been working on. Registration on Sunday mornings will begin in a couple weeks.

Summer may be ending, but I'm so excited about the beginnings of a new year at Mom's Carelink. Mark the dates on your calendar. Invite your friends. Let's experience life together!
